General Information:

Photographers have been inspired by the spectacular overlooks at the Grand Canyons North Rim. We capture stunning photographs taken during the days best light. Visiting the North Rim and Kaibab Forest in the fall offers us the amazing color of bright yellow aspen trees amongst dark evergreens, and red oak trees lining the high plateau meadows.

The North Rim provides for a peaceful Grand Canyon experience, attracting about 10% of the tourist that the more popular south rim sees every year.  With an average elevation of about 8500 feet,  the North rim is roughly a 1000 feet,  higher than the South Rim. This elevation difference provides for a totally different environment then the desert like south rim. You will find cooler temperatures, thick forest and open meadows, the Meadows are lined with Aspen and Oak trees providing beautiful gold and red fall colors. These Meadows are also home to an assortment of wildlife including the Kaibab deer and buffalo.

Our guide is an Arizona local who has been a park guide in the Grand Canyon through the National Park Service, He will be leading us to spectacular views of the canyon along the North rim that most people overlook.

We will stay at the KAIBAB LODGE  located on highway 67 before reaching the National Park boundary. We have reserved an assortment of Cabins at the lodge, The cabins will be given out on a first come first served basis. Thee cabins are basic and comfortable overlooking a quiet and peaceful meadow and the North Kaibab National Forest.

Kaibab Lodge is in the heart of the North Kaibab National Forest just five miles from the entrance to Grand Canyon National Park’s north rim. Built “about 1926-1927”, the lodge is said by some to have once been a working cattle ranch. Now, it’s a quiet place where people come to see deer, wild turkey, the unique Kaibab squirrel, a variety of wild birds, or to visit the national park. We are known as a “get away from it all location

The Lodge will be providing us with Breakfast and Dinner served in the dinning room, thesis meals are included in the workshop fee.
